Numdah is a piece of press felt made entirely of wool. Unspune wool is evenly spread over a mat and then rolled and pressed under foot for felting. The felted piece is then milled, washed and then dried. The Numdah makes a warm colorful floor covering and is also used as mattress. It can also be used as a wall hanging.

The Numdah we are selling is made of pure sheep wool and beautiful flowers and leafs are embroidered. On the four sides of the Numdah you can see the pieces of pure sheep wool.

Chain Stitch Embriodery

This special embroidery is done with “AAree” (needled Hooked).  It takes about many months to complete this small Rug. This embroidery is done over a hand woven cloth base. The design range from flower pattern to animal, bird and human form traced by designer and the craftsman embroidery is made by wool. The small or big rug looks like carpet. These chain stitch rugs are used both as floor covering and wall hanging.  The back cloth of this chain stitching rug is made of canvas. It takes many months to give this chain stitch rug a final look. In some chain stitch rugs there are small hooks for wall hanging.

It is handmade and produced by the local people of Chitral, Pakistan. It is made by local handmade looms (Khadi). Embroidery is done by hand and by the local women of Chitral. This Chugha is made of 100% pure sheep wool. Easily packed and need little ironing while unpacked. Used as an overcoat and it will keep you warm and relax when ever you use it.
